The question Bill Gates and others are asking that is should we have more concerned dialogue now, about where we want our super machines to go is one of consequence.
Without some management there could be some serious ramifications. I am not sure Andrew Lumby took Gates quote in an appropriate direction in his article but it was very thought provoking.
Perhaps, it is much too old school but when talking about super intelligent computers which think for themselves and act independently, I still believe in the programmers logic of “garbage in, garbage out”.
Even super intelligent software will need to get its information from somewhere, so it stands to reason what A.I. does input will determine the outcome. Just some thoughts.
